TAE Service Schedule

Shabbat Services are open to the entire community and are led by Rabbi Ted Riter, Rabbi Rebecca L. Dubowe, and Cantor David Shukiar.

1st Friday of the month:

6:30 p.m. Tot Shabbat –

This fast and fun service is geared toward preschool-age children and is filled with songs and prayers that many of the children learn in our ECC.  The service is followed by an Oneg Shabbat in the playground.  This is a wonderful opportunity for young families to introduce children to a Shabbat experience and connect with other families.

7:30 p.m. Shabbat Service –

This service is perhaps best termed our “traditional” or “regular” service.  In addition to beautiful song and prayer, our Rabbis will deliver a sermon, lead a discussion, or present a text study.

2nd Friday of the month:

7:30 p.m. Auxiliary or Grade level –

On these special Friday nights, our congregation is led by one of our Auxiliaries or by one of our Religious School grades.  Though some have tended to shy away from these services in the past, by using our Mishkan Tefillah, everyone will feel at home.

3rd Friday of the month:

7:30 p.m. Family Service with Birthday blessings –

This is a new night of the month for our family service.  The service, with our Mishkan Tefillah, is enhanced with participatory melodies and a story by one of our Rabbis.  Our hope is that when our Youth Choir is created, they will lead these services in song.

4th Friday of the month:

7:30 p.m. Service with Choir and Band of Milk and Honey –

We are excited this year to bring our Choir and Band of Milk and Honey together to lead us on these Friday nights.  This will be an exciting service each month as we step up the energy and participation.

5th Friday of the month:

6:30 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat –

On the few occasions when we have a 5th Friday of the month, we will begin with an Oneg of wine and cheese at 6:00 followed by a 30-minute service starting at 6:30.  We have created this service with the hope that congregants will follow the service with a Shabbat dinner together with others.

Every Saturday and Holiday:

10:00 a.m. Shabbat/Yom Tov service –

We have a Shabbat service every Saturday morning and a special Yom Tov service on Jewish holidays.  These meaningful services include a Torah reading and a sermon or Torah study.  On most Saturday mornings, the service is led by a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  We encourage the entire community to join us at each of our morning services and celebrate Shabbat and holy days together.

Many Saturday afternoons:

5:00 p.m. Shabbat service –

On many Saturdays our congregation conducts an afternoon service in which a student becomes Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  This service is open to the entire community and is announced in our Bazman and in Friday night pulpit folders.
